Netvibes

First off I just want to say that I have been enjoying this class a lot because it has been exposing me to things on the internet that I have never used or even knew existed. One of those things is my new homepage, netvibes. Now my morning routine consists of dragging myself downstairs, brewing myself a cup of coffee and visiting a slew of websites that get me updated such as my e-mail, checking out the news, a couple of my favorite blogs as well as going on facebook. Now if it is a lazy morning and I have some time to kill before I start my day, I have no problem putting around on all these different websites. Yet of course, I don't always have as much time as I want in the morning before I get my day started, and this is when netvibes proves to be a worthwhile tool. A home page that has everything I want to see right in front of me. Right there I can give a quick glance to check my e-mail, facebook and at the very least see news headlines. Now this is great, but one thing that I don't like is that it gives the opportunity to become too filtered. I know some of the best things I've found on the internet are because they got introduced to me by sites I visited. Netvibes can kind of stip that. Yet even witht that being said I think netvibes is a great idea.

  1. Very nice blog. I also like the netvibes software. You can customize it to ones liking and everything is at your finger tip.

  2. Even though I have an account with netvibes and it is extremely useful, I'm finding it hard to break out of my normal routine of just typing in the web address of where I want to go! I think the more I customize my page and get it set up, the more often I will probably use it. That's awesome that you are getting great use out of it in the mornings :)
