I was having a hard time thinking up what my next post would be related to the class, then luckily one of my friends showed me this video on youtube. Since it is a cartoon about twitter, I thought it would be applicable to this class since we've already discussed social networking sites and we've been introduced to blogging this week. Now twitter as I have come to understand it, is a personal blog with very short posts about what is going on in your life. I think it's a novel idea, being something to let your friends know what's going on with you. Sometimes I do something similar via status updates every once in awhile in facebook when something big has happened to me. Yet some people feel the need to write down everything that they're doing. Some things that you may not care to know about your friends and some things that you deffinately don't want to know about your friends. I know someone with an account and she's a prime example of this. The cartoon above discusses this and brings up the question how much is too much? Does this constant updating and the need to feel always connected border on addiction? Or is it just something that can get out of hand when you have too much time on your hands? I don't think I would really want people to know about everything I'm doing, just for the fact that it would seem like I'm giving up some of my privacy. Yet maybe I just don't twitterstand.

That video is priceless thank you so much it puts into words and images all of my emotions towards twitter. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with Jeff! That video was awesome- and those same questions have run through my mind. There not REALLY your friends, people! I don't think I twitterstand yet either- maybe it will come in time?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, I just passed it on to 3 other people!
